Palmetto Health USC Medical Groupis seeking a part-time OBGYN Laborist. We currently employ two full time OBGYN Laborists at Prisma Health Richland Hospital Labor & Delivery. The current Laborists cover the Labor and Delivery area six days a week from 5 pm until 7am. The part time position is needed to cover paid time off for the full time Laborists and to cover the additional day each week. The goal is to have the Laborists work as a team allowing flexibility to get most all nights in the year covered. Responsibilities include coverage of labor and delivery, ER consults, overseeing emergency GYN surgery deemed necessary at night, and teaching. Teaching involves overseeing OB/GYN residents, and teaching/mentoring of residents who work as a team each night along with the education of medical students rotating on the OB/GYN service. Compensation Experienced Board Certified OBGYN preferred. Our inpatient facility serves as the primary clinical site for the University Of South Carolina School Of Medicine. The Prisma Health Richland Hospital campus has a fully staffed Level III NICU, 16 active labor rooms, and three operating rooms in the labor and delivery suite. We have 24/7 anesthesia coverage. We have a diverse patient population, and serve a 16 county catchment area in the midlands of South Carolina. Our hospital is the regional perinatal referral center for the midlands and we accept maternal transports from our catchment area. Columbia, the capital, is nestled in the center of the state and is home to the University of South Carolina. The downtown area offers historic charm and growth that has spread throughout the surrounding suburbs. Only an hour from Charlotte and two hours from the beaches or mountains.
