Chief of Obstetrics/Gynecology-Guthrie Clinic, Sayre, PA

Sayre, PA – Guthrie Medical Group seeks a dynamic, innovative, experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Chief of Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN) at Robert Packer Hospital. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a fully integrated healthcare delivery system in the Twin Tiers of northern Pennsylvania and southern upstate New York.

The Guthrie Clinic is an integrated health system founded in 1910. It has grown to a multi-specialty practice with more than 500 physicians and advanced practice providers, five hospitals and 32 ambulatory care sites across 22 communities. Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital was the very first EPIC implementation of Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) in the inpatient setting.

The Chief of OB/GYN will ensure that the department functions effectively within the integrated system of care; improve performance while realizing robust growth in breadth and depth of clinical programs; and will lead the enhancement of quality outcomes. The Chief will have an active role in the growth and development of the department of OB/GYN at Robert Packer Hospital while maintaining a robust clinical practice. Overall, the Chief will develop a sense of team and organized standard of care in the department of OB/GYN at Robert Packer Hospital.

A proven track record as an effective leader of physician staff, medical support staff and other personnel is essential. The Chief will recruit, guide and support a group of physicians and nurse practitioners. The Chief of OB/GYN must be able to inspire the staff and physicians with a keen understanding of what is required for success, frequent and effective communication, transparency, optimism and a demonstrated commitment to the success of individuals in the Department. Qualified candidates must have an MD or DO from an accredited medical school, be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and eligible for medical licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.

Duties Include

  • Serve as a supervising attending physician for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program, including in clinics, in the hospitals, and during surgery.
  • Supervise the delivery of care to patients in assigned clinics.
  • Provide general OB/GYN care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Collaborate in the development of standards of care practice guidelines and care maps as appropriate for outpatient and hospitalized OB/GYN patients.
    • Serve up to five labor and delivery calls per month.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary clinical quality improvement programs.
    • Participate in medical student clinical teaching and conferences.
      • Participate in resident morning conferences, morbidity and mortality reviews, and other didactic sessions.
      • Provide lectures/presentations to the residents.
 Qualifications
  • Candidates must have an MD or DO degree.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois.
  • A desire to practice in an academic medical setting.
  • Experience in teaching physician residents and medical students is preferred.
  • Academic rank is subject to experience.

OBGYN Faculty, Mount Carmel Health, Columbus, OHIO
 
Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a BC/BE OBGYN to join the full-time teaching faculty at our ACGME-accredited residency training program in Columbus, Ohio. We welcome all enthusiastic educators to consider this position although the ideal candidates will be at least 3 years post-residency.
About the Position:
  • Educate, supervise and provide direct care for patients in the resident clinic and on L&D Unit
  • Candidate must have strong interest and skill in team-based obstetrical care, health care policy for provision of obstetrical care, and high motivation for innovative resident and medical student education
  • Candidate must be comfortable with a broad spectrum of OBGYN, including management of medically complex high-risk pregnancies and advanced obstetrical surgery. Must be able to manage gynecological and OBGYN traumatic surgical emergencies

The U of L Department of Ob-Gyn and Women’s Health is comprised of 17 full-time physician faculty with representation of board-certified subspecialties of MFM, Gyn-Onc, and FPMRS and members with focused practice in MIGS and Advanced Family Planning.  Our team also includes 3 CNM and 4 women’s health NP. The department has a strong residency program of 24 residents that actively participate in section activities during their training. Current fellowship programs include FPMRS, minimally invasive gyn surgery, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
 
The Generalist Division provides complex obstetrical care to a diverse population with support from our MFM colleagues. We teach a steady stream of bright learners from Kentucky and beyond. We value teamwork, collegiality, great care for every patient and keeping a sense of humor through it all.
 

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for this physician educator include: direct patient care, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, and collaborating with other faculty in clinical research, quality and safety, and academic projects.
 
Interest/experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: clinical research; robotics; minimally invasive surgery; family planning; chronic pelvic pain; sexual dysfunction; and lesbian, bisexual, and transgender health. 


Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school, board certification or eligibility, and qualifications to obtain an unrestricted Kentucky Medical License. Previous faculty experience in an academic setting is preferred. Salary and academic rank are based on qualifications.
