The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is recruiting a gynecologic oncologist to join our team of academic physicians.

Overview:

The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is seeking a full-time specialist in general academic obstetrics and gynecology to support expanding clinical services and a newer residency program. Primary responsibilities include direct patient care, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, and collaborating with other faculty in clinical research and academic projects.

 Qualifications:

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is conducting a national search leading to the appointment of a talented and accomplished obstetrics and gynecology physician leader who will serve as Division Chief, of Women’s Health. 

In this era of transformation in American medicine, the new Division Chief will continue the Institution’s commitment to improve women’s health care in Southcentral Pennsylvania and beyond. The Division Chief will work closely and collaboratively with key individuals to accelerate the continued development and growth of Women’s Health services from a clinical, educational and research perspective. The Division Chief will have the opportunity to focus on identifying, establishing and implementing new clinical programs, recruiting key staff as needed and charting a course for vigorous improvement and growth, while balancing consistent clinical delivery, driving quality initiatives, and developing service standards. The Division of Women’s Health provides not only primary care but also specialty care in areas of general obstetrics and gynecology. The Division is comprised of 14 faculty positions, 4 Midwives, and 10 Advanced Practice Providers. The Women’s Center provides in-depth information on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care of conditions that affect women of all ages. Over time, with expansion of faculty within the division, there are opportunities to develop areas of expertise in pediatric and adolescent gynecology, menopause, and the like.

Qualified candidates are those who possess an MD or DO with board certification in obstetrics & gynecology and the academic credentials and experience to qualify for appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor. Candidates must have demonstrated experience as a proven leader in the management of a Departmental Division, within a large complex health system, and demonstrate an understanding of the issues involved. Obstetrician Gynecologist Generalist Division Chief Job Description

The Generalist Division of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences (http://obgyn.med.miami.edu) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSOM) is experiencing a period of expansion and is seeking exceptional candidates to join the faculty.   The University of Miami is considered among the top tier institutions of higher education in the U.S. for its academic excellence, superior medical care, and cutting-edge research. 

The Generalist Division is recruiting for a Division Chief at the level of Associate Professor or Professor.  Candidates must be Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Primary responsibilities of the Division Chief consist of: collaborating with the Chair to execute the strategic planning for the Division and the Department; work with the Chair to attract outstanding faculty; leading clinical and research initiatives; managing the operations of the Division; mentoring junior faculty members; and working closely with the Director of Patient Safety and Quality and other members of the clinical and research Departmental leadership; interacting with UMMSOM, UHealth, and Jackson Health System leadership. The ideal candidate will be energetic, motivated, and committed to outstanding patient care, research and education, and will be an established, academic, obstetrician gynecologist.

Members of the Generalist Division provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecologic care to women working alongside allied health professionals, specialists and subspecialists in both the University of Miami/ UHealth and Jackson Health Systems.  Specialty care includes uterine fibroids, sexual health, pelvic pain, vulvar abnormalities, family planning, preconception counseling, cervical dysplasia, and anal dysplasia. A strong commitment to teaching medical students, residents and fellows, and conducting research are prerequisites for leading the Generalist Division in the role as Division Chief. Clinical investigation includes a broad range of domains, including but not limited to patient oriented, translational, epidemiologic, behavioral, outcomes, implementation or health services research. 

Primary clinical responsibilities of the Generalist Division Chief include participation in inpatient and outpatient obstetrical and gynecological clinical practice at the UMMSOM and Jackson Health System sites.  

Primary administrative responsibilities of the Generalist Division Chief:

  • Oversee the obstetric and gynecologic inpatient experiences, including Labor and Birth
  • Oversee Generalist Division outpatient activities.
  • Mentor the Generalist Division faculty.
  • Oversee the clinical, research, and teaching activities of Generalist Division faculty.
  • Develop protocols and implement patient safety initiatives to improve clinical outcomes.
  • Monitor quality and appropriateness of medical care, as well as performance metrics.
  • Develop Divisional policies and procedures.
  • Develop Divisional research and protocols. 
  • Participate in clinical peer review, documentation and care planning.
  • Ensure that the interface between Division, the Department and other departments are managed optimally.
  • Ensure effective team communication and promote a positive culture in the Department. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience as an academic OBGYN Generalist encompassing entire spectrum of clinical practice, education - clinical instruction/teaching, and research.
  • 5 years of progressive supervisory experience consisting of oversight of other providers, program development and administration, fiscal oversight and management, development of peer or junior faculty research endeavors, and/or other leadership development and growth accomplishments.

It is anticipated that your on-call will be approximately 3-4 calls per month, depending on the needs of the Generalist Division. This distribution of effort may change based on your interests, department needs, and your success in obtaining extramural grant funding.

Compensation will be provided commensurate with experience.
