Academic Specialist in General Obstetrics and Gynecology
Overview:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health at University of Louisville School of Medicine values a culture of diversity and inclusion and is seeking a full-time academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology to join our team. The U of L Department of Ob-Gyn and Women’s Health is comprised of 17 full-time physician faculty with representation of board-certified subspecialties of MFM, Gyn-Onc, and FPMRS and members with focused practice in MIGS and Advanced Family Planning.  Our team also includes 3 CNM and 4 women’s health NP. The department has a strong residency program of 24 residents that actively participate in section activities during their training. Current fellowship programs include FPMRS, minimally invasive gyn surgery, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
 
The Generalist Division provides complex obstetrical care to a diverse population with support from our MFM colleagues. We teach a steady stream of bright learners from Kentucky and beyond. We value teamwork, collegiality, great care for every patient and keeping a sense of humor through it all.
 

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for this physician educator include: direct patient care, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, and collaborating with other faculty in clinical research, quality and safety, and academic projects.
 
Interest/experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: clinical research; robotics; minimally invasive surgery; family planning; chronic pelvic pain; sexual dysfunction; and lesbian, bisexual, and transgender health. 


Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school, board certification or eligibility, and qualifications to obtain an unrestricted Kentucky Medical License. Previous faculty experience in an academic setting is preferred. Salary and academic rank are based on qualifications.

     FULL TIME OB/GYN MIGS FACULTY OPPORTUNITYIN PORTLAND, OREGON

 

The OHSU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology - Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a full-time, qualified academic gynecologist with subspecialty training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) to join their full scope practice in the Portland, Oregon metro area. Faculty rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date is July, 2021.

 This position is intended to establish a clinical Gynecology practice focused on minimally-invasive surgery and treatment of pelvic pain. Clinical responsibilities will include Gynecology outpatient clinics (including colposcopy, contraceptive management, and office hysteroscopy under sedation); surgical Gynecology, including surgically complex patients with benign gynecologic conditions including intraoperative consultative services for general OB/GYN practitioners (when requested); and full participation in the Gynecology call pool, some of which will require off-site presence at OHSU partner facilities. This position is also anticipated to aid in the development of a recognized provincial referral center for patients with pelvic pain, including advanced surgical endometriosis management, and to help build and maintain a multidisciplinary Chronic Pelvic Pain clinic. Applicants should have exceptional clinical and surgical skills and enjoy training medical students, OB-GYN residents and fellows in the clinic and operating room.

 The position will also be expected to participate in the department’s educational, research, and administrative responsibilities. Opportunities are available for scholarly activity, which may include research and other grant supported work, as well as academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to the field of expertise. This position also provides clinical education to fellows, residents, and medical students participating in Obstetrics and Gynecology rotations, and would be expected to provide feedback and evaluation, both formally and informally, for learners working in obstetrics and gynecology.

 Applicants must be an MD eligible for licensure with the Oregon Medical Board; applicants must have completed an ACGME approved 4-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a 2-year Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS).   • Experience as a core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN Residency Program.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence as a practicing OB/GYN Physician.
  • At least three (3) years of educational or administrative experience.
  • Must be appointed in good standing with the Parkview Physicians Group.
  • Have unrestricted credentials within Parkview Health and be licensed to practice medicine by the State of Indiana.
